Casandra Becerra Vazquez: Miss Mexico Earth 2011 (Miss Earth 2011 contestant)
Casandra Becerra Vazquez of Distrito Federal has been crowned Miss Earth Mexico 2011 on September, 2011 at the Center Conventions and Business Chetumai, Mexico. Casandra Becerra beat out contestants from 31 other states of Mexico to win the title on the 10th annual national beauty pageant of Miss Earth Mexico 2011. Claudia Mollinedo of Tabasco crowned her successor the winner Casandra Becerra.
Casandra Becerra Vazquez is an official representative of Mexico in Miss Earth 2011 beauty pageant at Manila, Philippines on 3rd December, 2011. It was originally scheduled to be held at the Impact, Muang Thong Thani, Bangkok, Thailand. However the pageant organizers decided to move the pageant back to the Philippines due to the Massive flooding in Thailand.
Besides its beauty, the new Miss Earth convinced the jury with its project, green roofs, which involves the use of roofs of houses, buildings and public and private spaces and green areas.
The Miss Earth pageant Mexico 2011 ended with the crowning of Cassandra Vasquez Becerra (Federal District), Vidal Yusihey Celorio (Tabasco), Ivonne Medina Beltran (Sinaloa) and Alejandra Sandoval Villasenor (Oaxaca), who were raised as"Miss Earth","Miss Air","Miss Fire" and "Miss Water", respectively.
When asked what environmental project will you create to promote the protection of Mother Earth and why, Casandra replied, "In this day and age, the growing population in the world is leaving us without green spaces in the big cities. There are too many buildings, so my proposition is the creation of green roofs."
